Brief - To develop fabric swatches using different fabric manipulation techniques inspired from a photograph.
Technique used - Double Edge Ruffle
Strips were cut and the edges were overlocked. It is gathered in the centre. Then appliquéd in tight coil in the centre of the ruffle. Pollens are added in the centre.
Technique used - Single Edge Ruffle
Strips were cut and the edges were overlocked. It is gathered in the single side. Then appliquéd in tight coil on one side of the ruffle. Sequence is added in the middle.
Technique used - Applique and Fringe
Technique used - Little pillows and Ruffles
1 inch circles are cut from doubled fabric, sewn around, turned and stuffed to make the pillows
2 inch strips of fabric is cut, folded and gathered on one edge then basted to the edge of the pillow. beads are sewn on top of the pillows
Technique used - Furrowing
4 inch circles are cut and smaller diameter of 3 inches is marked on the circle and 2 inches on the bottom fabric and both are stitched to 2 inch diameter. tiny tacking stitches are made in the smaller diameter of 2 inches to furrow the fabric and swirling between the sides of the fabric.
